Sutton on Flight of the Conchords (1.02)

Sutton Foster as Coco on The Flight of the Conchords episode, "Bret Gives Up the Dream."
Perhaps it might be more appropriate for Sutton Foster if this were changed to "Someone Else's Husband". ;-)
she's a true artist.
I've always loved this song. I miss Ugly Betty
I wonder if HJ sings her the boom song
The modulation on “pretending”… PERFECTION
My favourite Elphaba and Glinda (Mostly Eden is the favourite Broadway actor in my opinion)
Here at 2024 ❤❤
I saw her as Eponine when she was on a national tour. She was incredible!
Megan: What the...? Eden: Holy crap! LOL
Is that really her? She looks different
Sutton is way ahead of her league. Shes the best in broadway.
Amazing! She is a treasure!
aspiring singers...pay close attention, how to be simple and the song communicate.
Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus are among the greatest song writers of the 20th Century. They are up there with Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lennon and McCartney, Lerner and Lowe. Who would have predicted that when they took to the stage of The Eurovision Song Contest in 1974.
she makes it look so easy... this song is cake for her. What a legend.
I've heard this song a hundred times but no where as good as this!
they had to get an extra long coat for Sutton
Wooahh awesome!! I also made a cover of this as well.. Feel free to check it out :)
Full body chillsssss
I concur with the nasal comments. Her ability is fine; it’s her voice that bothers me.
Why is she always looking at the ceiling??
We love a tall eponine 😌😌
This isnt the “standard” of on my own rendition since perhaps most of us are very familiar with lea salonga’s iconic performance. However if you really have read the book, and have not just based on broadway performance, I think this rendition is the closest to who Eponine really is.Eponine isnt angelic and a disney princess. She was a street girl, scorged and tortured by the cruel reality of life…The grit in the performance is what really makes this rendition great for an Eponine.
Wow!
Sutton Foster is magical...but that was very underwhelming.
Sutton wasn’t trained as a singer until thoroughly modern Millie…NATURAL TALENT 🥳🥳
Wow. The song took on a whole new dimension with Sutton. She is heartbroken throughout. It’s not an easy song to sing but she made it work and made it poignant.
A decade later, and I still listen to that song, thanks Ugly Betty.
UTUBE JUST IN TIME BY JOHN BAVAS
Megan Hillty: Galinda Eden Espinosa: Elphaba
Y’all remember that this was over 20 years ago and les Mis has changed a ton I personally love her version
This video has 98,785 views, and 72,000 of them are me.
I remember watching this episode when it first premiered back in 2007 and this was during my obsession with Wicked and also with my huge fictional crush on Elphaba. Eden wasn’t there when I first saw the show but Megan was my first Glinda.
Even after years of knowing the technical aspects im still like howd they get past the stage manager and stagehands up into the flies and onto the bubble lol.
They had the bubble be on ground level for this scene which is how it happened lol.
Whoa, she looks totes different from her other show, but she definitely has one of the most beautiful smiles I've seen in a long time.
I think this is one of the most beautiful performances I've seen from her!
Didn't her brother play Joly in this?
lol when would the bubble in defying gravity😂😂😂
I have a lot of respect for when people extend the belting note like she did, because shes not just saying shes comfortable doing that- but comfortable doing it every night- and some nights twice! (I know she was the understudy but still)
It was fantastic until PRETENDIIIINNGGGG
Lea is a nine! Sutton is 9,7 bravo.. 👍Helen S is a 10❤️
Agree 100%. This interpretation gives me real Helen Sjöholm vibes.
If you love Eden Espinosa, you should check out Disney's Tangled: Before Ever After, Eden voices Cassandra, Rapunzel's handmaiden and best friend! Fair Warning, there's a Three Season TV series that follows the movie, which is called; Tangled the Series.
She is so uncannily like Sally Field in some of her expressions.
Her voice is too whiny and nasal for this song.
It's unrealistic that the actors playing Glinda and Elphie reacted like that. They would have been more professional in real life. But I like the fact that wicked appears in a tv series.
Obviously lol
How would an actor react in that situation?
This is the first non comedic role I’ve seen her in.
Jo in Little Women? Violet?
I just found out my parents saw her as eponine on tour when they were dating. I'm jealous
She is way better than any other girl to do it. Way more power and resonance than anybody else. Lea Salonga has no resonance to her voice
She’s a very able singer, but her squeaky-brassy-nasal voice is so wrong for this role.
Her voice is too horribly squeaky for this role.
